Ana Roman is a groundbreaking Sonic Cyberfeminist, creative technologist, and sonic arts educator. As a DJ and producer featured in DJ Magazine, Resident Advisor, and Mix Mag, Roman's mission is to leverage Sonic Cyberfeminism as a powerful tool for exposing injustices embedded in the age of AI, as well as other networked cyber spaces. Through their innovative workshops at MIT Media Lab and NYU Clive Davis Institute, they confront challenges of AI-generated music, surveillance capitalism, and digital harassment, while advocating for queer perspectives in AI development and exposing the ableism inherent in current music interface design.
Their dedication to empowering the general public to music technology underscores their belief that applied ethical tech can be a positive force for sustainable, economic and social change.
As Ana works on their forthcoming Interface Intifada Handbook and Algorithms of Sonic Solidarity Toolkit, set for a 2025 release, they continue to solidify their position as a visionary in Sonic Cyberfeminism around the world inspiring a new generation of thinkers and creators to reshape our relationship with technology and sound.
